I want to help

You have just made the most important step towards feeling better. Making that decision to seek counselling can feel hard. It can be daunting to reach out for help. How do you know which therapist is best suited to help YOU?

You need to feel comfortable; to trust the person you share your concerns, your hopes and fears with. It is paramount that you feel unjudged; that your therapist is listening to you with empathy, and really hearing YOU.

You need a Counsellor who you feel YOU can connect with.

I am a highly qualified Counsellor, who is experienced in working with the manifold issues which can make coping with everyday life a challenge. I work from the understanding that everyone is unique – similar issues affect different individuals in different ways. I believe that YOU are the expert on your own life, but I understand that you may be struggling to know the best way forward for you at present. I can help you explore and begin to understand these difficult or overwhelming issues, in a supportive, kind and non-judgemental environment.

We will work together to help you gain insight, and bring about the necessary change to improve your mental & emotional wellbeing, and help you find your way back to YOU.

I first contacted Deb when I wasn’t feeling myself, after a recent divorce and a bad break-up. When I first thought about counselling, I felt embarrassed and confused about what I would actually gain from it. However, this was not the case. After a couple of sessions we really started to unpick why I felt the way I did. We explored various different techniques to try and help change my mindset, and focus on what was important: Me!

Deb really understood how I was feeling, and supported me whatever I threw at her. From my anxiety issues, to the way I viewed myself, nothing was left unturned.

I walk away now, free from medication and feeling myself again. I will never truly be able to thank Deb enough for her work with me; I am finally me again…but much stronger! “

“Having never been for psychotherapy before, I was apprehensive but just hopeful that this might help. Having gone through a very challenging period of sustained stress, I was no longer coping with work, barely coping with life and feeling highly anxious all the time.

After the first session with Deb, I was so comfortable and felt it was easy and natural to ‘unpack’ the history that led me to that point. I was put at ease immediately by Deb and I found that she was very warm, understanding and incredibly insightful. Being able to talk so openly and question myself in a safe environment proved so helpful to me. Deb worked with me to come up with coping strategies and ways to challenge my negative and often irrational thoughts.

The sessions with Deb have helped immeasurably and optimism has returned enabling me to concentrate on work tasks, conversations and my own goals again, I feel so much better. I can’t thank Deb enough for her help during a period when I was really struggling.
